Every question held out from what it was taught. Answered cold, from memory. Here's how the kid did:
Ten of eleven subjects passed. A grade 9 in History. Grade 8 in Physics and Sociology. A 7 in Biology. Overall 66%. One flat fail — Languages — where in fairness I'd only asked it two questions and it fumbled both; a rubbish exam, not really its fault.
But the number I care about most isn't a grade. Across ~300 quizzes strung through its school years, its scores climbed from 37% early to 63% late. It didn't just hold facts — it got better at learning as it grew. That curve is the experiment in one line.
Honest ledger, because I promised to post what's crude too: it formed only ~16 settled "beliefs" from 1,300 facts — diverse book-knowledge doesn't take root the way repeated experience does. Its tidy brain-regions blurred into one big tangle at full scale. Its "recall" is retrieval, not understanding. It even crashed once mid-run on a boring file-locking bug and picked itself back up from a checkpoint.
Grown, not downloaded — and able to sit an exam. I should have stopped there and celebrated.
Instead I decided to add one more thing to how it learns — a change I was sure would make it better.
I was about to make my first real mistake — and it would cost Enki its grades.
